Hi, people. Could you kindly explain me one thing. Would it be safer If i'll flash my old B450 Gaming Pro Carbon mobo via M-Flash using old R5 2600X CPU?
Or maybe I should flash it trough non-CPU feature USB Flashback? I am going to use Ryzen 3700X on this board.
Thank you.

Hello,
- If pc can enter in bios setup when <DEL> is pressed at post step (that is, you have compatibles CPU, RAM and display),

use M-Flash because it is fully interactive

: when you click on M-Flash, you have to browse the file to be loaded, bios files for others mobos are not listed (no risk to load a bad file), the loading progress is shown and you are advertised that load has successfull ended.
-

The big interest of Flashback+ is that it does not require a CPU

(and RAM and display and good bios). Nevertheless, with Flashack+, pc displays nothing except the Flashback+ LED who flashes, so that you are not sure that file was gooldly loaded.
- To finish, know there is also >>Flash tool[1.09] for MSI UEFI BIOS<<. It has been developped by Svet, a forum administrator. It is

as reliable

as M-Flash: a lot of users have already used it with success. It is also

fully interactive

(so compatibles CPU, RAM and display are required) but, the loading process must be prepared with more caution by the user; fortunatly, the HowTo is clearly explained in the Svet's initial post. Flashtool must be used when:
- Downgrade cannot be done with M-Flash, because downgrade is not allowed by MSI or the CPU manufacturer.
- A bios file for another mobo was previously loaded.
Have a good day,

But would it be possible for me to flash a beta (or v18) BIOS for Ryzen 3xxx support if I do that via M-Flash using my old 2600x? Cause as far as I know BIOS after v16 are not support the Zen+ CPUs

Hello,
If pc can enter in bios setup with the Rz-2600x, yes you can use M-Flash to update the bios!MSI Global English Forum (6)
Once update done, exchange the CPU with the Rz-3xxx, do a clear CMOS (to force the system to discover the new CPU) and it should work fine.

PS

: in the futur, if you need to use FLashback+ (because update with with M-Flash is not possible), don't worry about the CPU, RAM, GPU (...): even if they are not used, it is not required to unplug them.
